    The Higg Facility Environmental Index is comprised by core set of tools that assess the environmental impacts of products such as water use, carbon emissions, and labor conditions. Ron Tomson only sources wool fabrics that are assessed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition.
  • ZDHC

    Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals is a group of leading footwear and textile brands, committed to working together to advance towards zero discharge of hazardous chemicals. All of Ron Tomson Italian velvet jackets and tuxedos are sourced from ZDHC member Italian mill Redaelli Velluti.
  • BCI – Better Cotton Initiative

    The Better Cotton Initiative is a global NGO and the largest cotton sustainability program in the world. BCI exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future. BCI aims to transform sustainable cotton production worldwide. Ron Tomson sources its cotton velvet from Redaelli, a member of the BCI community and compliant to the BCI code of practice.

  • Responsible Wool Standard (RWS)

    The RWS is a voluntary global standard that addresses the welfare of sheep and of the land they graze on. The RWS provides verification of the practices that are happening at farm level, giving brands a clear solution that will allow them a confident, safe and responsible solution in their wool sourcing. Ron Tomson uses 100% responsible wool for all suits, tuxedos, and jackets.
  • GRS – Global Recycle Standard

    Ron Tomson choses to contribute to the conservation and rational use of raw materials. We offers products made of 100% recycled fiber, GRS certified. The GRS is an international, voluntary, full product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions.
  • OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 in Class 1 certified.

    The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is an independent and uniform international control and certification system for the textile industry. The verification grants that the fabrics used are certified as both environmentally friendly produced and tested for the absence of harmful substances in the product. The extensive and strict list of requirements, among others, include the absence of: • azoic coloring agents, formaldehyde, cadmium, nickel, etc. • chemicals hazardous to health • environment polluting substances. Ron Tomson cotton dress and formal shirts, wool suits and tuxedos are made from OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified fabrics.

    Standing for "Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikikaisha" YKK is a zipper manufacturer founded in 1934. YKK zippers are prized in the garment industry for their impressive construction and reliability. The company controls every part of the zipper manufacturing process, holds a Higg Facility Environmental Module score and the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. Ron Tomson uses YKK zippers on both garments and footwear.

    Redaelli Velluti is a family-run company on the shores of Lake Como, in Northern Italy’s Lombardy region it has a long, distinguished history of velvet in the European textile. All of Ron Tomson's Italian velvet jackets and tuxedos are sourced from ZDHC and BCI member Italian mill Redaelli Velluti.
